Nakashibetsu Town Tennis Courts to Pre-Open Early Following Fast Snowmelt

Nakashibetsu Town Tennis Courts Open for Pre-Season Use Through April 30

Nakashibetsu Town’s public tennis facilities are now available for community use through April 30, 2026, as announced by the Nakashibetsu Town Culture and Sports Promotion Foundation. The pre-opening period runs from April 18 to April 30, with courts accessible daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time.

According to official announcements from the foundation, the early access is possible due to favorable snowmelt conditions and steady progress in court maintenance work. The foundation stated that preparations advanced more smoothly than initially anticipated, allowing for the earlier-than-planned availability of the facilities.

During this pre-opening phase, individual players may use the courts at no cost. However, all users must complete a check-in process at the Nakashibetsu Town General Gymnasium office before accessing the courts. Each session is limited to a maximum of two hours, though extensions may be granted depending on current usage conditions and court availability.

The foundation has specified that only individual use is permitted during the pre-opening period; group reservations or exclusive team bookings are not available until the official season opens. Restroom facilities for court users are located in the adjacent General Gymnasium building.

Officials noted that the pre-opening schedule remains subject to change based on weather conditions or unexpected issues with court readiness. Any adjustments to the opening dates or hours would be communicated through the foundation’s official channels.

The Nakashibetsu Town Culture and Sports Promotion Foundation has announced that the official opening of the tennis courts for the 2026 season is scheduled for May 1, 2026. Following the official opening, nighttime lighting (naighter) use will become available for evening play.

For the most current information regarding court availability, any schedule changes, or specific access procedures, visitors are encouraged to contact the Nakashibetsu Town General Gymnasium directly at 0153-72-2316.

The pre-opening initiative reflects the foundation’s ongoing efforts to maximize community access to recreational facilities whereas maintaining high standards for court conditions and user safety.

As the 2026 tennis season approaches in Nakashibetsu, local players and enthusiasts now have an opportunity to prepare for upcoming matches and enjoy the sport during the transitional spring period.

Those interested in sharing their experiences or staying updated on local sports developments in the Nakashibetsu area are invited to engage with community sports platforms and local news outlets covering recreational facility updates.
