Tadej Pogacar has secured his fourth Liège-Bastogne-Liège victory, defeating Paul Seixas by 45 seconds in the 2026 edition of the Ardennes classic.

The Slovenian world champion pulled away from the 19-year-old French prodigy on the final climb to claim his third consecutive title in the race, adding to his palmares with a time of 5 hours, 50 minutes and 9 seconds.

Seixas, competing in only his second Monument race, pushed Pogacar to the limit throughout the Ardennes terrain, staying with the world champion for nearly 20 kilometers on the Côte de la Redoute before being distanced on the Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons with 14 kilometers remaining.

The young Frenchman finished 45 seconds behind in second place, ahead of Belgium’s Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel, who took third position.

Pogacar’s victory marks his fourth win in five races this season, including triumphs at the Tour of Flanders and Milan-San Remo, with only a second-place finish at Paris-Roubaix breaking his streak.

The race, covering 259.5 kilometers, saw Pogacar attack repeatedly on the Côte de la Redoute, where Seixas matched his pace before the decisive move came on the Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons.

Despite his age and limited experience in one-day classics, Seixas demonstrated remarkable resilience, earning praise from Pogacar himself for his performance.

The result leaves Pogacar just one Liège-Bastogne-Liège title shy of equaling Eddy Merckx’s record of five victories in the race between 1969 and 1975.
