The event marked the start of the outdoor season for junior archers, drawing participants from across Spain. This result earned him a direct passage to the quarterfinals on Sunday morning.
In the quarterfinals, Negro faced Valencian archer Óscar Sánchez. The match remained tightly contested throughout, with Negro prevailing by a single point to advance to the semifinals. There, he encountered another Valencian competitor, Alejandro Martín. The semifinal bout was equally narrow, but Negro lost by a margin of 137–136, sending him to the bronze medal match.
