Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl has delivered a clear message amid ongoing transfer speculation surrounding French winger Michael Olise: the club is not selling the 24-year-old anytime soon.
Speaking to German outlet SPORT1 ahead of Bayern’s DFB-Pokal semifinal clash against Bayer Leverkusen, Eberl emphasized the club’s unified approach to handling external pressure. “Wir haben unsere Bubble, wir haben unser Vertrauen, wir haben unsere Gespräche. Alles, was um uns herum passiert, das lassen wir ein Stück weit an uns abprallen,” he stated, using a metaphor that translates to letting outside noise “bounce off us a bit.”
The comments come as Olise continues to establish himself as one of Bayern’s most important players following his move from Crystal Palace. Eberl previously told German magazine 11Freunde that what is “missing in this discussion is that we signed Michael Olise, who has a contract with us until 2029 – without a release clause – and is on his way to becoming one of the best players on the planet.”
Sporting director Christoph Freund echoed this sentiment in early October, telling Sky90 that Bayern could “well imagine him playing at Bayern Munich for the next seven, eight, nine years.” Freund added that the club is “not worried at all” about Olise’s future, noting he has “really hit the ground running and has taken another step forward.”
