Miryang, South Korea – The 2026 National University and Corporate Badminton Championships concluded successfully in Miryang on April 22, 2026, after ten days of intense competition that showcased the depth of talent across South Korea’s badminton landscape. Hosted by Miryang City, the tournament brought together 61 teams and over 500 athletes from universities and corporate sectors nationwide, competing in both team and individual events across men’s and women’s divisions.

The competition ran from April 13 to April 22, 2026, at the Miryang Badminton Stadium, with events organized into university and corporate divisions. In the university men’s team event, Wonkwang University emerged victorious, while the university women’s team title went to National Gunsan University. Miryang City’s corporate team secured the men’s team title in the corporate division, and Hwasun County’s corporate team won the women’s team title.

Individual event champions included Park Seong-ju of Wonkwang University in the university men’s singles, Bu Seo-yeon of Incheon University in the university women’s singles, and the doubles pair of Kim Ha-bin and Jang Jae-woong from Wonkwang University in the university men’s doubles. In the university women’s doubles, Kim Ye-ri and Jo Yu-na of Korea National Sport University claimed victory, and the mixed doubles title was won by Han Jeong-uk of Hannam University and Choi Hyo-bin of Baekseok University.

The finals on April 22 featured enhanced production elements, including LED lighting stages and large A-board advertising displays, which organizers said helped capture audience attention. Local cultural elements such as Miryang Arirang were incorporated into the event presentation, contributing to both the competitive atmosphere and the city’s broader efforts to strengthen its identity as a sports destination.

Officials from Miryang City highlighted the tournament’s role in promoting local sports infrastructure and community engagement, noting that the successful execution of such a large-scale event reinforces the city’s ongoing investment in athletic facilities and regional sports development initiatives.

With the 2026 edition now complete, attention turns to future editions of the National University and Corporate Badminton Championships, which continue to serve as a key platform for emerging and established badminton talent in South Korea. The tournament’s structure—separating university and corporate competitors while maintaining unified event management—has been noted as a distinctive feature of the national badminton calendar.
