Mostar – Velež Mostar delivered a commanding performance on Tuesday evening, defeating Sarajevo 4-1 in the second leg of their Cup BiH quarterfinal clash at the Stadion Rođeni. The victory secures Velež’s place in the competition’s semi-finals, dashing Sarajevo’s hopes of lifting the trophy this season.
Despite an early goal from Sarajevo, Velež responded emphatically, turning the tide with a dominant display of attacking football. The match, played in front of a passionate home crowd, saw Spahić, Nukić, Milak, and Hrkać all find the back of the net for the home side.
Sarajevo drew first blood in the 13th minute, with Joao Carlos opening the scoring. However, their lead proved short-lived. Velež equalized in the 33rd minute through Spahić, igniting the home support and shifting the momentum of the match.
