LANGLEY, BC – The Vancouver Bandits announced Thursday the signing of NBA veteran Mychal Mulder for the 2026 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season. The 6-foot-3 guard from Windsor, Ontario, brings a wealth of professional experience to British Columbia, poised to bolster the Bandits’ roster as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
Mulder’s basketball journey includes 84 appearances in the National Basketball Association between 2019 and 2022, suiting up for the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic, and Miami Heat. His most significant NBA contribution came during the 2020-21 season with the Warriors, where he played in 60 games, averaging 5.6 points, 1.0 rebound, and 0.4 assists in 12.8 minutes per contest. He even earned six starting nods alongside established stars like Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins.
“I am excited to be in Vancouver to play with the Bandits and function with coach Kyle Julius this summer,” Mulder said in a statement released by the team. “Playing in a Canadian league is a first for me, and it is an opportunity that I capture pride in. We are going to have a really good group and a very competitive season; Bandits fans, get ready.”
Most recently, Mulder continued his professional career with the Capital City Go-Go, the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, during the 2023-24 season. There, he appeared in 27 games, contributing 5.2 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 17.3 minutes of playing time.
Before his professional career, Mulder honed his skills at the University of Kentucky, where he played two seasons of NCAA Division I basketball from 2015 to 2017. As a Wildcat, he averaged 4.7 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 0.4 assists across 32 games, playing a role on a team that reached the Elite Eight of the 2017 NCAA March Madness tournament.
Bandits head coach and general manager Kyle Julius expressed his enthusiasm for the signing, stating, “Mychal is an elite Canadian player who has built a career as accomplished as any player to play in our league. He will provide considerable-time experience and leadership to our group. He has played with the best players in the world and it is going to be awesome to have him enhance our culture and push our group towards a championship.”
Mulder’s international experience also includes representing Canada on the senior national team, participating in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers and the 2021 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament. This experience will undoubtedly be valuable as he integrates into the Bandits’ system.
The addition of Mulder complements the Bandits’ existing roster, notably joining reigning CEBL Canadian Player of the Year, Tyrese Samuel. The team is building a strong foundation for the 2026 season, aiming to contend for the league championship.
The Vancouver Bandits will kick off their 2026 CEBL season on the road against the Saskatoon Rattlers on Thursday, May 14. Fans will have their first opportunity to see the team play at home on Friday, May 22, when the Bandits host the Edmonton Stingers at Envision Financial Court at the Langley Events Centre, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT.
