Rīga Marathon Children’s Day: Free Races, Medals & Family Fun at TC Spice!

Riga, Latvia – Families with young athletes are gearing up for a weekend of fun and fitness as Spice shopping center hosts a warm-up event for the Rimi Riga Marathon Kids’ Day this Saturday, March 21st. The event, running from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM local time (UTC+2), promises a range of activities designed to receive children excited about running and active lifestyles.

The Rimi Riga Marathon Kids’ Day, traditionally kicking off the two-day marathon program on May 16th, is a special occasion where the youngest runners capture center stage. This weekend’s event at Spice serves as an early celebration and a chance for kids to test their skills before the main event on November 11th Embankment. Organizers have extended the festivities this year, offering a preview at Spice to build anticipation and confidence for the May race.

Activities for All Ages

Spice will offer a variety of engaging activities for children of all ages, and abilities. Participants can look forward to a 20-meter sprint, a 15-meter distance challenge, and plenty of fun in the dedicated Rimi zone. Adding to the excitement, CIDO Kids will be present with their mascot, Rubble from Paw Patrol, providing entertainment and surprises. The Rimi zone will also offer healthy snacks to fuel the young runners.

No age restrictions are in place for participation at Spice, and entry to the activities is free. Children will receive a starting number upon participation, which unlocks special offers at various stores within the Spice shopping center. Participating retailers include SCHOLLER, Dormeo Home, Hooligaan Bubble tea & Coffee, Eiropas apavi, Milani, XS Rotaļlietas, Crocs, Reima, and Rito. This provides an added incentive for families to enjoy the event and explore the shopping center.

Awards and Recognition

The fastest and most agile participants will be recognized at an awards ceremony held at Spice at 1:45 PM on Saturday. This will add a competitive element to the day, encouraging children to give their best effort and celebrate their achievements.
