Park’s consistent performance in the Star Ranking highlights her popularity among fans. Notably, three weeks prior, during the 35th poll, she achieved a record-breaking 36,012 votes – the highest ever recorded in the Star Ranking’s history for both men and women. This demonstrates a remarkable level of support and engagement from her fanbase.

Trailing Park in the rankings is badminton superstar An Se-young of Samsung Life Insurance, who secured the second position with 2,590 votes. Despite a recent runner-up finish at the 2026 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Super 1000 All England Open on March 9th, where she narrowly lost to world number two Wang Zhiyi of China, An Se-young maintains a strong following.

The remainder of the top five remains unchanged. Kim Hee-jin of Hyundai Construction takes third place with 1,886 votes, followed by Shin Yu-bin of Korean Air with 1,378 votes. Rounding out the top five is Park Hyun-kyung, a star golfer with Mediheal, who received 987 votes.

The Star Ranking system allows fans to directly influence the rankings by voting for their favorite stars on the Star News website. The results of these polls often come with special benefits and recognition for the athletes.

Star News began separating the rankings by gender starting with the 5th week of polls in June of last year. The current list of female athlete candidates includes Park Jeong-ah, Kim Hee-jin, Idahyun, Kang So-hui, Yang Hyo-jin (all volleyball), An Se-young (badminton), Shin Yu-bin (table tennis), Kim Dan-bi, Shin Ji-hyun, Kang I-seul, Shin I-seul (all basketball), Yoon Ina, Ko Jin-young, Park Sung-hyun, and Park Hyun-kyung (all golf) – a total of fifteen prominent athletes.

The 39th round of the Star Ranking for women will be open for voting from 3:01 PM on March 19th to 3:00 PM on March 26th, giving fans another opportunity to show their support for their favorite athletes. Fans can participate through the Star News homepage.

The continued success of Park Jeong-ah in the Star Ranking underscores her impact and popularity within South Korean sports. Her consistent performance on the court, combined with a dedicated fanbase, has propelled her to the top of this fan-driven poll. An Se-young’s strong showing, despite a recent tournament loss, demonstrates the enduring appeal of badminton and its star players.

The next voting period, opening March 19th, will be crucial to see if Park Jeong-ah can maintain her lead or if An Se-young can close the gap. Fans will undoubtedly be eager to participate and influence the outcome of the 39th Star Ranking poll.
