Cantù came out firing in the first quarter, quickly establishing a double-digit lead. A strong performance from Fevrier, Bortolani, and Ballo propelled the home side to a 31-20 advantage after the opening ten minutes. Ballo’s early impact in the paint proved particularly difficult for Trieste to contain. Trieste responded with some scoring from Uthoff, Deangeli, and Sissoko, but Cantù’s Basile closed the quarter with back-to-back three-pointers to extend the lead.
The second quarter saw a more competitive back-and-forth. An alley-oop from Toscano-Anderson sparked a brief run for Trieste, but Cantù quickly countered with Green and Fevrier leading the charge. While Bannan managed to narrow the gap with a series of three-pointers for Trieste, Cantù continued to answer, ultimately heading into the halftime break with a comfortable 12-point cushion. Sneed’s late three-pointer proved crucial in maintaining the momentum for the home team.
As the game progressed, Green emerged as a key offensive force for Cantù, consistently finding ways to score. Fevrier also continued to contribute effectively, both from the field and at the free-throw line. For Trieste, Bannan’s shooting provided a much-needed spark, but the team struggled to consistently contain Cantù’s offensive firepower.
At the half, Ballo and Green led Cantù with 11 points apiece, supported by 9 points from Sneed and Fevrier. For Trieste, Bannan was the leading scorer with 14 points, followed by Sissoko and Candussi with 5 points each.
