Liga F Moeve: Fueling Female Leadership Through Football

MADRID – As International Women’s Day approaches, a powerful partnership between Liga F and energy company Moeve is gaining momentum, aiming to cultivate the next generation of female leaders both on and off the pitch. A recent gathering brought together employees of Moeve with key figures from Liga F to discuss leadership principles, the importance of teamwork, and the vital role of female role models – a conversation that underscores a growing commitment to gender equality within Spanish football and beyond.

The initiative, highlighted on March 6, 2026, featured insights from three members of Moeve’s executive committee: Bettina Karsch, Executive Vice President of People, Organization and Culture; Carmen de Pablo, CFO and Director of Strategy and Sustainability; and Alice Acuña, Executive Vice President of Trading and Commercial Integration. They shared their personal experiences alongside Beatriz Álvarez, President of Liga F, in a forum designed to inspire and empower.

The Power of Representation in Women’s Football

Bettina Karsch emphasized the significant progress women’s football has made in professionalizing over the past decade, noting a direct correlation between increased visibility and aspiration. “The fact that more and more girls want to be footballers is no coincidence,” Karsch stated. “It’s correlated. Football has a great social impact. If we have more female role models, we are also fostering potential female leadership for the future.” Moeve recognizes the crucial role that these figures play in shaping ambitions and creating opportunities, and views its collaboration with Liga F as a key component in driving positive social change through sport.

Álvarez echoed this sentiment, stressing the importance of companies like Moeve recognizing sport as a tool for social transformation. “It is especially relevant to share spaces like this with a company like Moeve, which understands sport as a tool for social transformation, and has become a strategic partner for Liga F due to its firm commitment to sustainability, equality and a vision for the future,” she said. She added that the growth of the league isn’t just reflected in viewership and attendance, but in a deeper shift – more young girls are finding relatable figures in the players themselves. “If we can ensure that women’s football contributes to broadening the aspirations of new generations, we will also be driving future female leadership in all areas of society.”

Liga F Moeve: A League on the Rise

The impact of Liga F is becoming increasingly evident. The league’s television audience grew by 90% during the last season, and continues to build on that momentum following a new broadcast agreement that includes RTVE (Teledeporte and RTVE Play) and TV3 (Esport3 and 3cat), alongside Gol Play, TEN and DAZN, which has covered the competition since its inception in 2022. This expanded coverage is bringing the league to a wider audience than ever before.

Attendance figures are also climbing steadily. Liga F Moeve has more than doubled its stadium attendance compared to its non-professional phase less than five years ago. The 2024/25 season saw a 7% increase in average annual attendance. Notably, ‘El Clásico’ – the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid – has surpassed 35,000 attendees for the third consecutive season in the 2025/26 campaign, demonstrating the growing popularity of the league’s marquee matchups.

The league’s digital footprint is expanding rapidly as well. Liga F now boasts around 1.2 million followers across all its social media profiles, a growth of over 50% since the finish of the previous season – an increase of more than 400,000 followers. This surge in engagement underscores the league’s increasing relevance and appeal to a younger, digitally-native audience.

A Broader Partnership: Moeve, Liga F, and LaLiga

The sponsorship extends beyond Liga F itself, encompassing a broader alliance with LaLiga. Moeve has become the first sponsor of all sporting competitions within both organizations, lending its name to Liga F Moeve and also to LALIGA GENUINE Moeve, a competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities. This comprehensive partnership reflects Moeve’s corporate commitment to values such as collaboration, teamwork, integration, diversity, resilience, and talent.

Under the slogan “The world is our playing field, the future is better if we all play,” Moeve, Liga F, and LaLiga aim to create a positive societal impact through the platform of sport, ensuring inclusivity and opportunity for all. This commitment is a testament to the belief that sport can be a powerful catalyst for social change.

The collaboration between Moeve and Liga F isn’t simply a financial arrangement; it’s a strategic alignment of values. By investing in women’s football and promoting female leadership, both organizations are actively working to build a more equitable and inclusive future. The increasing visibility of female athletes and leaders serves as a powerful message to young girls, demonstrating that anything is possible with dedication and opportunity.

Looking ahead, Liga F will continue to build on its momentum, with the next key fixture being the upcoming matches scheduled for the weekend of March 13-14, 2026. Fans can stay updated on the latest news, scores, and schedules through the official Liga F website and social media channels. The league’s continued growth promises an exciting future for women’s football in Spain and beyond.
