MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg Add Terrell Harris for Playoff Push

LUDWIGSBURG, Germany – The MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg have bolstered their roster with the addition of experienced American guard Terrell Harris, the club announced Tuesday. Harris joins the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) team from CS Vâlcea 1924 of Romania, signing a contract through the summer of 2026 as the team aims for a strong finish to the season and a playoff berth.

The move represents the RIESEN’s fourth and final player acquisition option for this season. Head Coach Mikko Riipinen expressed his satisfaction with the signing, emphasizing the need for added depth and experience as the team enters a crucial phase of the campaign. “We decided to add another player before the deadline,” Riipinen said. “We had the opportunity to sign a player with experience in the easyCredit BBL, which is both important and helpful. We are adding Terrell to the group to strengthen and deepen the team before the last and very important part of the season.”

Riipinen continued, “We see our duty to our fans to do everything to achieve our goals – Step 1: To be better than last season, Step 2: To secure playoff qualification. Terrell is a very experienced player who can play multiple positions. He can play with and without the ball, which is positive, and he is very aware of our club’s goals and what we aim for to achieve on the court.”

Harris, 32, is no stranger to German basketball. His previous stints in the country include time with Iserlohn (ProB in 2016/2017), Rostock (ProA in 2018/2019), and Chemnitz (ProA & easyCredit BBL from 2019-2021). With the NINERS Chemnitz, he played a key role in the team’s promotion to the BBL and subsequent survival in the league. He also had a successful season with Crailsheim in 2021/2022.

In 62 games played in Germany’s top basketball league, Harris has demonstrated his scoring ability and versatility. Most recently, he competed in Turkey (Onvo Büyükçekmece), Italy (BCC Blu Basket Treviglio 1971), and Romania (CS Vâlcea 1924), where he averaged 9.7 points and 3.3 assists internationally and 7.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists domestically. His experience playing in multiple European leagues is expected to be a valuable asset for Ludwigsburg.

The RIESEN are hoping Harris can provide an immediate impact. The team currently boasts a 17-man roster, including seven international players. Riipinen and his coaching staff will have the flexibility to adjust the lineup based on game situations and player availability.
