Young Badminton Players of the Lot in Intensive Training for Upcoming Championship

The Lot Department Badminton Committee recently concluded a series of training stages designed to prepare young badminton players from clubs across the Lot region for upcoming competitions. Nearly 45 young athletes, selected based on their results and rankings, participated in the sessions held from Tuesday to Thursday this week.

The training was led by Baptiste Dajean, the departmental coach, and assisted by Matthieu Gardou from the Figeac club, along with Léo Joseph and Théo Prévost from Pradines Badminton. This intensive preparation aims to give the young players a competitive edge as they head into the Lot Young Championship, scheduled for Saturday, March 14th, and Sunday, March 15th.

Championship Details and Venue Information

Pradines Badminton, in collaboration with the Comité 46, will co-host the championship. The doubles competition will take place on Saturday at the Halle des Sports in Espère, while the singles matches will be held on Sunday at the Complexe Cabessut in Cahors. Organizers anticipate a busy weekend with numerous matches. Registration remains open through Tuesday at the clubs.

Baptiste Dajean also played a key role in a departmental detection event held in Figeac on January 24th. Twenty-two young players participated, undergoing evaluations of their motor skills and badminton knowledge. Some participants will advance to the regional stage in Rabastens in late March.
