Latvia Motocross Judge Training & Licensing Seminars – April 2024

STĀMERIENA & TUKUMS, LATVIA – The Latvian Motorsports Federation (LaMSF) has announced a series of training and licensing seminars for motocross referees ahead of the 2026 competition season. These seminars, designed to ensure a high standard of officiating, will be held in Stāmeriena and Tukums next month.

The first seminar is scheduled for April 11th at the Melnezera Mototrase in Tukums (Melnezera iela 1), beginning at 12:00 local time (UTC+3). This session will focus on training for motocross referees in the “C” category. Interested candidates can obtain further information and register by contacting Renārs at 26411304.

A week later, on April 18th, a more comprehensive seminar will take place at the Stāmerienas tautas nams (Stāmeriena Community Center) in Stāmeriena, starting at 10:00 local time (UTC+3). This seminar will cover both “C” and “B” category motocross referee training. Potential referees can identify more details and register by contacting Raimonds at 26110684.

These seminars are crucial for maintaining the integrity and fairness of motocross competitions in Latvia. The “C” category represents an entry-level qualification, although the “B” category signifies a higher level of experience and expertise. Becoming a certified referee requires a commitment to understanding the complex rules and regulations governing the sport, as well as the ability to make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.

The announcement of these training opportunities comes at a busy time for Latvian motocross. Just last week, LaMSF highlighted the return of the Motocross World Championship to Madona, which will now include sidecar and quad racing alongside traditional motocross events. LaMSF’s website details the upcoming events and provides a central hub for information regarding Latvian motorsports.

Latvian riders likewise recently enjoyed a strong start to the MXGP World Championship in Argentina, signaling a promising season for the nation’s motocross athletes. The “Baltic Sea Cup” 2026 is also set to kick off the season in Liepāja on March 15th, further demonstrating Latvia’s commitment to hosting and participating in high-level motocross competitions.

For those unfamiliar with the refereeing structure in motocross, the categories represent different levels of responsibility and expertise. “C” category referees typically assist more experienced officials, while “B” category referees are qualified to oversee races independently. Advancement through the categories requires ongoing training, evaluation, and a demonstrated understanding of the sport’s evolving rules.

The LaMSF’s proactive approach to referee training underscores its dedication to fostering a thriving motocross community in Latvia. By investing in the development of qualified officials, the federation aims to ensure that all competitions are conducted fairly and safely, providing a positive experience for both riders and spectators.

The upcoming seminars represent a valuable opportunity for individuals passionate about motocross to turn into involved in the sport beyond the role of rider or mechanic. Refereeing offers a unique perspective on the competition and a chance to contribute to the growth and development of motocross in Latvia.

Looking ahead, the next confirmed event on the Latvian motocross calendar is the Baltic Sea Cup in Liepāja on March 15th. Fans and competitors alike are eagerly anticipating the start of the season and the opportunity to witness some thrilling racing action. Further updates and information can be found on the LaMSF website.

Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Raimonds (26110684) for the Stāmeriena seminar or Renārs (26411304) for the Tukums seminar to learn more about the registration process and seminar details. Don’t miss this chance to become a part of the Latvian motocross community!
