INTERCONALEP 2026: Celebran Primer Encuentro Deportivo en Puebla | CONALEP

CIUDAD DE PUEBLA, Pue. – The Colegio de Educación Profesional Técnica del Estado de Puebla (Conalep) celebrated the inaugural “1er. INTERCONALEP 2026” this week, a multi-sport event designed to promote athletic activity among students and align with broader state and federal initiatives focused on violence prevention, health, and social participation. The competition, held at Ciudad Universitaria of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), saw participation from 812 students across 62 teams representing all 12 Conalep campuses in the state.

The event featured six distinct disciplines: chess, athletics, basketball, football (soccer), volleyball, and baseball. According to Conalep officials, the winning teams from INTERCONALEP 2026 will form the core of the delegation representing Conalep at the “Juegos Deportivos Estatales de la Educación Media Superior 2026,” scheduled to take place from April 20th to 24th.

Gonzalo Amador Juárez Uribe, the director general of Conalep Puebla, emphasized the importance of the event in identifying and nurturing athletic talent within the student body. “The teams that emerge victorious here will have the honor of representing Conalep at the state-level games,” he stated. The initiative underscores a growing emphasis on sports as a tool for positive youth development within the region.

The opening ceremony was attended by Javier Castellanos Vázquez, the director general of Basic Education at the Secondary Level of the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP). Castellanos Vázquez highlighted the significance of sports in Puebla, noting that This proves now considered a key policy area under the leadership of Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier. This commitment, he explained, is rooted in a “humanist vision” and is integral to the broader strategy of rebuilding social cohesion championed by President Claudia Sheinbaum’s federal government.

Giovanna Araujo, Director of Development and Sports Promotion at the Universidad del Deporte del Estado de Puebla (UDEP), extended congratulations to the Conalep community for their enthusiastic organization of the event. She encouraged continued dedication to athletic pursuits, emphasizing the importance of determination in achieving sporting goals.

The competition wasn’t just about crowning champions; it was about providing opportunities for students to engage in healthy competition and develop valuable life skills. For many of these young athletes, INTERCONALEP 2026 represented their first experience competing at a large-scale event, offering a platform to showcase their abilities and build confidence.

Detailed results from the competition reveal a diverse range of talent across the six disciplines. In chess, Erick Luna Santos (Teziutlán) and Abimael Osorio Morales (Atencingo) took first and second place respectively in the men’s competition. Karla Pecoma Spezzia of Plantel Chipilo secured first place in the women’s 400-meter dash, while David Gibran Jiménez Ortiz (Puebla I) dominated the men’s 400-meter and 100-meter sprints. Team competitions saw victories for Tehuacán in both men’s and women’s 5×5 basketball, and for the Oriental campus in men’s baseball and women’s 3×3 basketball.

The success of the inaugural INTERCONALEP 2026 signals a commitment to expanding athletic opportunities for students throughout Puebla. The event’s focus on inclusivity and participation, coupled with its alignment with broader social and health initiatives, positions it as a model for similar programs across Mexico. The upcoming Juegos Deportivos Estatales de la Educación Media Superior 2026 will provide a further stage for Conalep athletes to demonstrate their skills and represent the state on a larger platform.

Looking ahead, Conalep Puebla will undoubtedly build on the momentum generated by this successful event. The organization’s continued collaboration with institutions like BUAP and UDEP will be crucial in providing students with the resources and support they necessitate to excel in both academics and athletics. The emphasis on linking vocational training with real-world opportunities, as evidenced by the recent agreement with Scrubs Inovdeg, further demonstrates Conalep’s commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom and the playing field.

The next major checkpoint for these athletes is the Juegos Deportivos Estatales de la Educación Media Superior 2026, running from April 20th to 24th. Fans and supporters can follow Conalep Puebla’s official channels for updates on training, team selections, and competition results. The event promises to be a showcase of talent and a celebration of the power of sports to inspire and unite.
