Industrial Visit for BCA & BBA Students at DUCAT Delhi – Bol Panipat College

PANIPAT, India – Fifty-seven students from IB Postgraduate College recently completed an educational industrial visit to DUCAT (IT Training Institute) in Pitampura, Recent Delhi, gaining valuable insights into the world of information technology. The excursion, a joint initiative of the college’s Placement & Career Guidance Cell and the Medha Foundation, aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world work environments.

The students, comprised of second and third-year Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students, participated in the visit to gain a deeper understanding of the IT industry. Dr. Satveer Singh, Principal of IB Postgraduate College, emphasized the importance of such experiences. “Industrial visits help students reduce the difference between learning in the classroom and actual work situations,” he said. “They also help students understand how the real industry works.” Dr. Singh further encouraged the students to continuously learn and update their skills.

During the visit, experts at DUCAT provided detailed information on various technical and managerial aspects of the IT sector. Students explored topics including computer science, software development, marketing, programming languages, and the overall operational framework of the IT industry. The visit also focused on career opportunities within the field, interview preparation, skill development, and professional growth strategies.

Dr. Arpana Garg, Convenor of the Placement Cell, explained that the primary objective of these industrial visits is to provide students with practical experience, enabling them to better understand their subject matter and prepare for future employment. Students who participated described the visit as “extremely informative and inspiring,” noting that it provided a valuable opportunity to understand the real-world workings of the industry.

The successful organization of the industrial visit was supported by Dr. Poonam Gupta and Ruchika Batra from the Placement Cell, as well as Shahid from the Medha Foundation. Their combined efforts ensured a smooth and enriching experience for the students.

This initiative reflects a growing trend in Indian higher education towards incorporating practical, industry-focused learning experiences into the curriculum. The goal is to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a competitive job market. For students pursuing careers in technology, understanding the practical applications of their studies is paramount.

The visit to DUCAT provided a focused look at the skills currently in demand within the IT sector. Students were able to learn about the latest technologies and trends, as well as the soft skills that employers are seeking. This type of exposure is crucial for students as they begin to consider their career paths and prepare for the challenges of the professional world.

IB Postgraduate College has been actively working to enhance its placement and career guidance services. The collaboration with the Medha Foundation is a key component of this effort, providing students with access to expert training and mentorship. The college’s commitment to preparing students for employment is evident in its proactive approach to industry engagement.

The industrial visit to DUCAT is just one example of the many initiatives being undertaken by IB Postgraduate College to ensure that its students are well-prepared for success. By providing students with opportunities to gain practical experience and connect with industry professionals, the college is helping to shape the next generation of IT leaders.

Looking ahead, IB Postgraduate College plans to continue organizing similar industrial visits and workshops to further enhance the employability of its students. The college is also exploring opportunities to collaborate with other industry partners to provide students with even more diverse and enriching learning experiences.

The next scheduled event for the Placement & Career Guidance Cell is a workshop on resume building and interview skills, scheduled for early April. Students interested in participating are encouraged to register through the college website.
