II Trofeo Panda 2026: Judo for Kids in Turin – Registration & Details

II Fase del 19° Trofeo Panda: Judo a Misura di Bambini a Torino

Torino, Italy – The Regional Committee of UISP Piemonte is gearing up to host the second phase of the 19th Trofeo Panda Judo tournament on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Palazzetto dello Sport “Le Cupole.” This event, a cornerstone of UISP’s youth development program in martial arts, provides a unique and engaging introduction to the sport of judo for young athletes.

The Trofeo Panda, now in its nineteenth year, isn’t simply a competition; it’s a fundamental part of UISP’s educational program aimed at the youngest participants. The primary goal is to introduce these budding athletes to the basics of sports through a playful and experiential approach. Under the guidance of qualified referees and coaches, children will progress gradually from playful training to competitive matches, all within a deliberately non-selective environment.

A Non-Selective, Educational Spirit

The tournament emphasizes participation and development over strict competition. The focus is on fostering a positive experience for all involved, with every participant receiving a commemorative prize at the finish of the day. This approach aligns with UISP’s core values, prioritizing inclusivity and the joy of sport.

Event Details and Categories

The competition is open to boys and girls born between 2015 and 2022, registered with UISP or other recognized Sports Promotion Organizations and national federations. The categories are divided by year of birth and weight class, ensuring fair and balanced matches.

  • Cuccioli/e (Born in 2022)
  • Bambini/e (Born in 2021/2019)
  • Fanciulli/e (Born in 2018/2017)
  • Ragazzi/e (Born in 2016/2015)

Matches will be conducted using a round-robin format (with 3 or 4 athletes per group) to maximize playing time and enjoyment for all competitors. To ensure the safety of the young athletes, the rules prohibit dangerous techniques such as sacrifices or joint locks, and fights will begin with fundamental grips.

Here’s a glance at the planned schedule for the day:

  • 08:30 – 09:00: Registration and check-in
