Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan stated, “We have no business with drug users. Those who recover and regain their health are always welcome,” as reported by Turkish media.

The continued use of drugs by some public figures, despite ongoing operations, is attributed to the lack of any real consequences for testing positive.

Alongside Fikret Orman, former Galatasaray chairman Burak Elmas also provided a statement to prosecutors as part of the same investigation. Both Orman and Elmas denied any involvement with drug use, according to Türkiye Gazetesi. Elmas also refuted allegations of hosting drug and prostitution parties.
Orman specifically stated he had never owned a home in Acarkent, a neighborhood frequently mentioned in connection with the allegations, and has resided at the same address for the past 30 years. He also claimed to be unaware of the identities of individuals named in witness statements, Onur Yükçü and G.C.
