Eagles firman a Hollywood Brown con contrato de un año por $6.5M

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms with wide receiver Hollywood Brown on a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday. The move aims to add speed and depth to the Eagles’ passing attack as they prepare for the 2026 NFL season.

While the Eagles did not disclose the financial details of the agreement, a league source confirmed to ESPN that the deal is worth up to $6.5 million. This addition comes after Jahan Dotson departed for the Atlanta Falcons in free agency last week, creating a need for a reliable receiving option.

Brown, 28, is expected to fill a role similar to the one Dotson occupied for the past two seasons. He brings a proven track record as a field-stretching receiver, highlighted by a 1,000-yard campaign in 2021. Last year, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs, Brown recorded 49 receptions for 587 yards and five touchdowns. It’s anticipated he’ll initially function as the No. 3 receiver behind established stars DeVonta Smith, and A.J. Brown, though that dynamic could shift.

The Eagles have reportedly been open to discussing potential trades involving A.J. Brown this offseason. Should Brown be dealt before the start of the season, Hollywood Brown’s role would undoubtedly expand significantly within the offense.

Brown spent the past two years with the Kansas City Chiefs, primarily serving as the third receiver alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Despite facing an injury setback, he demonstrated his ability to contribute effectively when healthy. In 16 games last season, he amassed 49 receptions for 587 yards and five touchdowns.

A year ago, Brown re-signed with the Chiefs on a one-year deal with the intention of proving his continued viability as a capable receiver. He endured a challenging 2024 season, sustaining a sternoclavicular injury on the opening snap of the preseason, sidelining him for 14 games. However, he returned to the lineup and played a role in the Chiefs’ run to Super Bowl LIX.

Brown entered the NFL in 2019 as a first-round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens. Over three seasons in Baltimore, his role and production steadily increased. He was then traded to the Arizona Cardinals, where he played for two years before joining Kansas City. In 2022, while with Arizona, Brown recorded 67 receptions for 709 yards and three touchdowns. Throughout his seven NFL seasons, he has accumulated a total of 371 receptions for 4,322 yards and 33 touchdowns.

The addition of Brown provides the Eagles with a versatile receiving threat who can contribute both as a deep target and a reliable chain-mover. For fans unfamiliar with his game, Brown’s strength lies in his ability to create separation with his speed and route running, making him a difficult matchup for opposing defenses.

NFL reporter Jordan Schultz first reported the agreement.

The Eagles will begin their offseason workouts in April, providing Brown with an opportunity to integrate into the offense and build chemistry with quarterback Jalen Hurts. The team’s next key date is the NFL Draft, scheduled for April 23-25, where they will look to address other needs on the roster. Fans can follow updates on the team’s official website and social media channels.
