CPA Skating Cunit Wins Championship: Results from Granollers Show Skating Competition

Granollers, Spain – The PA Figueres skating club earned a well-deserved bronze medal at the 2026 Catalan Artistic Skating Championship held this weekend in Granollers, demonstrating the growing strength of the club’s small show group. The team’s performance of “X Tu” scored 34.13, securing their place on the podium. This result marks a significant achievement for the club, building on their momentum from the 2025 season.

The competition was dominated by the CPA Skating Cunit, the reigning champions of Catalonia, Spain, and the world, who took gold with a score of 44.56. CPA Tona finished in second place with 43.36 points, completing the top three. The event showcased a high level of skill and artistry from clubs across Catalonia.

The Catalan Championship, which took place on March 7th and 8th at the Palau d’Esports de Granollers, featured both large and small show groups, as well as quartet competitions. PA Figueres also competed with their large show group, though they did not reach the podium in that category.

CPA Olot, performing their routine “Binomi inseparable,” finished just outside the medal placements in fifth with 28.76 points, narrowly trailing CP l’Aldea. AE Fornells and CP Bescanó rounded out the competition, finishing seventh and eighth respectively. The results highlight the competitive depth within the Catalan artistic skating scene.

PA Figueres’ bronze medal also secures their qualification for the Spanish Championship, reserved for the top six Catalan teams. This provides a valuable opportunity for the club to compete on a national stage and further showcase their talent. The club arrived at the championship with confidence, following a successful 2025 season where their large group earned a bronze medal at the Spanish Cup, and their small group placed fifth in the world championships in China.

The competition schedule saw quartets and large groups compete on Saturday, while Sunday was dedicated to junior and small show groups, coinciding with International Women’s Day. The event drew significant attention from skating enthusiasts and fans across the region.

This bronze medal represents a positive start to the 2026 season for PA Figueres, and the team will gaze to build on this success as they prepare for the Spanish Championship. The dedication and artistry of the skaters, combined with the coaching staff’s expertise, position them for continued growth and achievement in the world of artistic skating.

The next confirmed event for PA Figueres is their participation in the Spanish Championship, where they will aim to build upon their Catalan success and compete against the nation’s top teams. Dates and location for the Spanish Championship will be announced by the Spanish Federation of Roller Sports.
