Binéfar, Spain – The municipality of Binéfar honored its athletes, clubs, coaches, and sponsors at the XXIV Gala del Deporte on Friday, March 27, 2026. The event, held at the Teatro Municipal de Los Titiriteros, recognized achievements across a diverse range of sports and underscored the town’s growing reputation as a sporting hub within the Aragon region.
The gala, attended by a capacity crowd, featured presentations to athletes excelling in both individual and team sports. Binéfar’s Mayor, Patricia Rivera, highlighted the role of sport as a tool for integration, coexistence, and personal development. “Sport is an effective tool for integration, coexistence and human formation. It has united different people, opened doors, created bonds and helped generations grow. And that has an enormous intangible value, beyond the medals,” Rivera said.
Rivera also announced the upcoming opening of a modern sports pavilion on the site of the historic El Segalar football field. Both the Director General of Sports for the Government of Aragon, Cristina García, and the Provincial Deputy for Culture and Sports, Carlos Sampériz, praised the wealth of clubs, athletes, and facilities in Binéfar.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the Club Rítmica Binéfar provided a special performance during the gala, showcasing their skills with a dynamic and visually appealing exhibition. The event marked the 24th edition of the Gala del Deporte, with organizers already looking ahead to a special 25th-anniversary celebration next year.
Binéfar’s commitment to sport extends beyond recognition ceremonies. The recent approval of regulations for a co-working space in the bus station demonstrates the municipality’s broader efforts to foster a vibrant and supportive community for all its residents. This investment in infrastructure, coupled with the ongoing support for its sporting community, positions Binéfar as a growing center for athletic achievement in the Aragon region.
The gala served not only as a celebration of past accomplishments but also as a catalyst for future growth. With a renewed focus on developing its sporting infrastructure and nurturing its talented athletes, Binéfar is poised to continue its ascent as a prominent sporting destination.
Looking ahead, the focus will be on the completion of the new pavilion, which is expected to provide enhanced training facilities and opportunities for athletes across a variety of disciplines. The municipality will also continue to support its clubs and organizations, ensuring that they have the resources they necessitate to thrive.
