PLOGASTEL, France – The Plumes Bigoudènes badminton club of Plonéour-Lanvern recently concluded a successful tournament held at the Salle Communautaire Multifonction in Plogastel, attracting 175 licensed players from across western France and the Paris region. The event, held over the weekend, showcased competition across singles, doubles, and mixed categories.
The Plumes Bigoudènes organize two tournaments annually, providing a crucial opportunity for players to gain ranking points. “Many players ranked N2 are present because these competitions are an opportunity to win points and improve their national ranking,” explained co-president Yann Derrien, who shares leadership responsibilities with Laetitia Coïc. Currently, the club boasts 145 licensed members, a significant increase from the 170 members it had last year. Thursday evenings are reserved for open play for adults and juniors from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, while Fridays feature sessions for cadets and juniors from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM, followed by competitive adult sessions from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM and open play from 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Weekend sessions include initiation for younger players (minibad, poussins, benjamins) on Saturdays from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM and competitive sessions for young players from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Participation in the Plumes Bigoudènes requires a completed health questionnaire and registration form, which can be downloaded from the club’s website. Prospective members are granted three trial sessions, after which full registration is required to continue participating. The club offers tiered membership fees. Adult leisure players pay €80 annually, while competitive adult players pay €115.
