Badminton Ghent: Lessons, Times & Info | Sportuz Gent

Gent, Belgium – For those seeking a welcoming and accessible indoor sport, Sportdienst UZ Gent offers regular badminton sessions every Thursday evening. The program, designed for players of all ages and skill levels, provides both recreational play and the opportunity for instruction.

Badminton is a dynamic sport played either one-on-one or in doubles, where the objective is to hit a shuttlecock over a net and land it within the opponent’s half of the court. It’s a sport that combines agility, strategy, and a excellent dose of fun, making it a popular choice for both casual players and those looking for a competitive outlet.

A key feature of the Sportdienst UZ Gent badminton program is the availability of coaching. Interested participants can receive instruction from Peter Moens. Those wishing to take lessons are encouraged to contact Peter Moens directly via email at peter.moens62@gmail.com, and should notify him of their interest at least one day in advance of the session.

The sessions take place on Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The facility provides two changing rooms, and showers are available in the basement of K7. Currently, one court is dedicated to lessons during these times. Players are responsible for bringing their own rackets.

A collaborative spirit is encouraged among participants. Those arriving first are asked to set up the court, while the last players to finish are responsible for taking it down. When the number of players is high, the court is typically divided for four-player games, with players rotating in from the sidelines to ensure everyone gets a chance to participate. The program emphasizes inclusivity and encourages players to mix and mingle.

For logistical information, participants should note that if the sports hall is locked upon arrival, they can contact the internal security service at 093323091. If no other sports groups are scheduled to use the hall after the badminton session, participants are also responsible for requesting the internal security service to lock up the facility upon departure.

The program begins on April 9, 2026, with registration opening on April 2, 2026. There is a maximum capacity of 15 participants, and participation is free.

Badminton offers a fantastic way to stay active and socialize. The Sportdienst UZ Gent program provides a convenient and accessible opportunity to enjoy this popular sport.

The next scheduled badminton session at Sportdienst UZ Gent is Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Peter Moens via email to inquire about lessons and ensure a spot in the session.
