Badminton Club Receives €800 Sponsorship from Crédit Agricole for National Tournament | Blaye-Les-Mines

Blaye-les-Mines’ Badminton Club Léo Lagrange received a significant boost this week, securing an €800 grant from the local Crédit Agricole branch. The funding will directly support the club’s preparations for the upcoming National Tournament of Carmaux, set to celebrate its 21st edition later this year.

Guillaume Tressières, director of Crédit Agricole, presented the check to club presidents Adeline Chevillot and Loïc Vidal. Sonia and Brice, administrators of the Carmausin branch of Crédit Agricole, were also present for the presentation. Chevillot and Vidal expressed their gratitude for the financial support, emphasizing its importance in allowing the club to participate fully in the prestigious tournament.

The National Tournament of Carmaux, a key event in the regional badminton calendar, is scheduled for late June. The club hopes the funding will help cover costs associated with hosting and participating in the event, which draws competitors from across France. For badminton enthusiasts in the Tarn region, the tournament represents a showcase of local talent and a celebration of the sport.

Beyond tournament preparations, the Badminton Club Léo Lagrange is enjoying a period of strong activity across all levels. The club’s three Interclub teams continue to compete in departmental competitions, representing Blaye-les-Mines with pride. A recent training camp, led by Loïc Bussy in February, provided a valuable opportunity for competitive players to refine their skills. The club’s youth program, known as the “école de bad,” remains active, nurturing the next generation of badminton players and consistently representing the club in regional competitions.

Recent successes for the club include a standout performance by young Mélie Boyer, who secured a victory at the Tarn Championship. Boyer’s win is a testament to the club’s commitment to developing talent from a young age. The club’s growing number of competitors are also actively participating in regional tournaments in cities like Albi, Lescure, Marssac, Lavaur, Rabastens, Villefranche-de-Rouergue, and St Affrique.

Looking ahead, the club has planned a team-building and sporting excursion to Millau over the Easter weekend. The trip will include participation in a badminton tournament, with the added option of a thrilling deltaplane flight for the more adventurous members. This event underscores the club’s commitment to fostering a strong sense of community and camaraderie among its players.

The Badminton Club Léo Lagrange’s continued success is a testament to the dedication of its members, the support of local sponsors like Crédit Agricole, and the growing popularity of badminton in the Blaye-les-Mines area. The club’s focus on both competitive excellence and community engagement positions it as a vital part of the local sporting landscape.

The next confirmed event for the club is their participation in the Millau tournament over the Easter weekend. Fans can follow the club’s progress and find updates on their Facebook page: Badminton Club Léo-Lagrange Carmaux.
