Mesero, Italy – Alessandro Ganini, 16, continues to dominate the Italian archery scene, recently securing his fifth national championship title. This latest victory marks a significant milestone as it’s his first win in competition with the Federazione Csain, an organization affiliated with the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI). Ganini’s success came at the Campionato Nazionale Arco Indoor 3D, specifically in the Scout male category with a modern recurve bow, held last weekend in Lumezzane, Brescia province.
The Csain Italian Championship
Ganini’s archery journey is multifaceted. “Alessandro is registered with three sports clubs and three different archery federations: Fiarc, Fitarco, and Csain,” explained his mother, Elisa Melada. “For this competition, he participated with Asd Csain Cremona.” The Csain Indoor 3D Italian Championship unfolded over two days. Saturday, March 14th, featured the Round Indoor, where archers shot two arrows at 20 animal target placements. Sunday, March 15th, was the Trophy Indoor, with archers taking one shot per target across the same 20 placements. The combined scores from both days determined the rankings, and Ganini consistently held the top position throughout. This win represents his first Italian Championship with Csain, bringing his total national titles to five.
A Growing Passion
This achievement is a testament to Ganini’s dedication and rigorous training. His passion for archery began in 2019, while he was similarly actively pursuing karate – a discipline in which he currently holds a black belt. “It’s always an incredible feeling to stand on the top step of the podium,” Ganini said. “I still discover it hard to believe I’ve won all five national championships I’ve participated in. It’s a great passion, built on many sacrifices and dedication.”
Five National Titles and a Bright Future
Ganini’s recent success builds on a remarkable run of form. In September, he claimed his third and fourth Italian titles within a week of each other. The first came at the Fiarc (Federazione Italiana Arcieri Tiro di Campagna) national competition in Calabria, again in the Scout male – Recurve bow category. Shortly after, he triumphed at the Fitarco (Federazione Italiana Tiro con l’Arco) Italian 3D Championship in Umbria, using an Olympic bow. Currently, Ganini’s record includes three Italian titles with Fiarc and two with CONI-affiliated federations.
Ganini has already qualified for the upcoming Fiarc Italian Championship, scheduled to take place in Tuscany. He secured his spot by successfully completing the trials for the four different competition specialties: percorso, tracciato, battuta, and round 3D.

The CSAIn (Centri Sportivi Aziendali e Industriali) is a sports promotion organization affiliated with CONI and CIP, dedicated to promoting sports, cultural, and recreational activities in Italy. More information about CSAIn can be found on their official website.
Ganini’s rapid ascent in the world of archery is particularly noteworthy given his age. He’s not only excelling across multiple federations – Fiarc, Fitarco, and now Csain – but also balancing his athletic pursuits with his continued training in karate. This demonstrates a remarkable level of discipline and commitment for a young athlete.
The versatility Ganini displays, competing successfully in both 3D archery and traditional recurve formats, highlights his well-rounded skill set. 3D archery simulates hunting scenarios with lifelike animal targets, while traditional recurve archery emphasizes precision and technique on standard target faces. Mastering both requires a unique blend of physical and mental fortitude.
Looking ahead, Ganini’s qualification for the Fiarc Italian Championship in Tuscany provides another immediate opportunity to showcase his talent. The competition will test his skills across a range of disciplines, including percorso, tracciato, battuta, and round 3D, offering a comprehensive assessment of his abilities.
Alessandro Ganini’s story is a compelling example of youthful dedication and burgeoning talent in the sport of archery. His continued success will undoubtedly draw increased attention to the sport in Italy and inspire a new generation of archers.
