Winter Olympics: Snow, Sport & Global Highlights

The kick-off of one of the biggest sporting events of the year on the front page of Mondial Sports this Saturday! Italy is hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Two host cities on paper (Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo), 7 sites in reality, more than 110 events and obviously thousands of athletes: let’s go for the “other” Olympics!

Until February 22, 2026, RFI will focus on ice sports that do not appear in its usual program: skiing, hockey, biathlon, bobsleigh…

To properly prepare for this adventure, Mondial Sports provides you with instructions!

In the company of our guests, our consultant Karim Baldé and our journalists on site, focus on the great athletes and the major events of the coming weeks in the Italian mountains.

The Togolese skier Mathilde Amavi-Petijean as well as the Moroccan biathlete Paul Medhi Benhayoun are notably alongside Hugo Moissonnier. Proof that, contrary to popular belief, Africa is also well represented at the Winter Olympics!

The sound is available on the page from this Saturday, February 7, 2026, 6:05 p.m.
