WAC Striker Transfer: Injury Replacement for Pink | Football News

Wolfsberger AC will probably still be active in the transfer market on today’s deadline day.

As the “Kronen Zeitung” reports, the Carinthians are signing Jessic Ngankam from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old right-footer is set to move to Lavanttal on loan.

Most recently, “BILD” reported that Ngankam had received several offers from the 2nd German Bundesliga and from abroad. However, he is said to have decided against a change. Now he is likely to leave the SGE after all.

So far no breakthrough at Frankfurt

Ngankam attracted attention at Hertha BSC and moved to Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 for a rumored four million euros. A few months earlier he made his debut in the DFB U21 national team (5 games).

However, the attacker failed to make a breakthrough after moving to Eintracht. Ngankam was awarded twice (Mainz and Hanover). Last year he suffered a broken tibia and fibula while on loan at Hannover.

He has been back in Eintracht’s squad since last summer. This season he made three Bundesliga appearances and a brief appearance in the Champions League against Barcelona.

WAC reacts to Pink injury

With the rumored Ngankam loan, Wolfsberger would be reacting to the injury to veteran striker Markus Pink.

As the “Kronen Zeitung” reports, the 34-year-old has torn an inner ligament and is in danger of being out until the end of the season.

However, a commitment for defensive midfielder Moritz Heyer from Fortuna Düsseldorf is probably off the table. According to “Sky” information, the 30-year-old currently wants to stay in Germany.
