Viggo Karlsson: MFF Content Writer Deal

Date of birth: 2007-04-10
Mother Club: Hässleholms IF
Contract length: Three years

Viggo Karlsson was brought up in Hässleholms IF and came to Malmö FF’s youth activities in 2023. In the same year, he was also selected for the P16 national team.

During his three years in MFF, he has gradually established himself at an increasingly higher level and during the past season he was a regular in the P19 team and accounted for 5 goals in the league game. Last spring, he was also involved in winning the P19 League Cup when Hammarby IF was defeated in the final.

Now Viggo Karlsson is taking the step up to the A team on a contract that extends until 2028. In connection with this, he is being loaned to Trelleborgs FF in Ettan södra.

Daniel Andersson, football director:

– Viggo is a very technical player with a good understanding of the game. He is an outside midfielder who can play on both sides and works hard over large areas of the pitch.

– He has taken big steps during the year and grown into the suit. Playing at senior level, we hope he can make further strides this season.

Viggo Karlsson:

– It feels very exciting to take the step and I look forward to what lies ahead. This year started off pretty tough with an injury. But it was just to fight back. I was back when the series started and since then I’ve just kept going. It has gone well and been a fun year.

– I have been given a more offensive role and have been able to go more towards goals, score points and create opportunities. Now I’m looking forward to having a good year and just learning as much as possible to keep developing.
