The Russian economic envoy Kirill Dmitriyev, who is also taking part in the negotiations for his country to end the war in Ukraine, is currently leading new talks with US representatives in Florida. The AFP news agency claims to have learned this from negotiating circles on Saturday. The talks therefore began at 8 a.m. No information was provided about the content of the talks or the members of the negotiating delegations.
Dmitriyev, for his part, had recently announced on the online network Instagram that he was “back in Miami”. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s economic envoy did not provide any further information.
The talks in Florida only take place for one day planned new meetings between representatives of Kiev and Moscow in Abu Dhabi. Both sides want to continue their US-mediated talks on the Ukraine war in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. They spoke directly to each other for the first time last weekend about the American plan to end the fighting.
The main point of contention in the negotiations is Moscow’s demand for one Ukraine’s withdrawal from the Donetsk region, which is firmly rejected by Kyiv.
