Trincão has already renewed his contract with Sporting. To what Record It has been established that the Portuguese international will remain linked to the Lions until 2030 and remains protected by a release clause of 60 million euros, a value that remains unchanged. The agreement should be made official this Friday, according to our information.
With the contract ending in 2027, Trincão’s renewal was one of the priorities of SAD led by Frederico Varandas, who put on the table a contract to end in 2030, similar to what happened with Pote, who extended his connection to Sporting last October.
Negotiations between the Lions and the 26-year-old striker had started a long time ago, but were at an impasse. After catching the eye at Wolverhampton, Trincão aroused the interest of English clubs, such as Manchester United, then coached by Ruben Amorim, Arsenal and Newcastle. The two parties managed to unblock the process and put the black and white in a new contract, with Varandas resolving yet another important process.
Hired in 2022 from Barcelona, initially on loan, Trincão is spending his fourth season with a lion on his chest, being one of the core elements of Rui Borges’ eleven, as he had already been with Ruben Amorim. He was one of the pillars of Sporting’s second championship.
When it agreed on Trincão’s transfer to Alvalade, Barcelona was left with a buy-back clause, first of €20 million, in 2022/23, then €25 million, in 2023/24, which expired on June 30, 2024. Sporting would reinforce its position last summer, by acquiring the remaining 50 percent of the pass for €11 million, after having paid €7 M€ for the other half. With the English ‘sharks’ circling, Sporting keeps the player for another three years.
