The Benfica team went to Tondela and couldn’t do better than a 0-0 draw, which robs them of two precious points in the fight for the top of the league table, when in the next round the two main rivals – Sporting and FC Porto – will play at Dragão.

Benfica, even though they didn’t lose any game, this Sunday again conceded their seventh draw in the 2025/26 edition of the I Portuguese Football League, finishing 0-0 in Tondela, in a match on the 20th round of the competition.
Four days after the epic triumph against Real Madrid (4-2), in the Champions League, José Mourinho’s men once again ‘stumbled’ in the championship and could be 12 points behind leaders FC Porto, who play on Monday against Casa Pia, in Rio Maior.
For now, the ‘reds’, third placed, are five points behind two-time defending champions Sporting, second, who beat Nacional 2-1 at home, while Tondela remained in 17th and penultimate place, with 13 points.
