TIJUANA, Baja California.- The adrenaline of the 2026 Mexican Table Tennis Open is already being experienced intensely in the Multipurpose Gym of the Tijuana High Performance Center, where 22 gaming tables face off until February 8 against the best national and international exponents of this discipline.
Athletes from nine countries compete for the maximum glory of the contest with national delegations from other states, consolidating the Mexican Open as one of the most important table tennis events in the country.
Young talents from Baja California also participate in the event, who take advantage of this high-level competitive scenario as part of their training process towards the national stage of the CONADE Games, facing experienced and nationally ranked rivals.
On the part of Tijuana, players such as Germán Abel Camarillo, André Colin Pascasio and Yael Sánchez Becerra stand out in the U19 category; as well as Yami Córdoba Morales, Gael Camarillo Ramos, Mauricio Valdez Francisco, Marco Antonio Inzunza, Rebeca Carrillo, Paula Renata Landines Vega, Militza Ibarra Flores, Emily Giselle González Herrera, Ana Feria and Nicolás Alegre Solórzano, who compete in different youth divisions.
From Ensenada, Diego Haziel García Estrada, Santiago Rodríguez Flores, Abril Ayala Cárdenas, Sebastián Castro Márquez, Keilyn Franccesca Canett Licea, Armando Araiza Gastélum, Alec André González Alcocer, Mizuki and Umiko Muraoka Ceseña, Carolina Bretón Cisneros, Isabella Vélez Talamantes and Miguel Ángel Terrazas Best take part, reinforcing the Baja Californian presence in open and youth categories.
Likewise, Baja California adds the participation of other players such as Pablo Gastélum, Miguel Alcantar, Germán Torres, José Ignacio Ascensio, Sofía Barrera and the para table tennis athlete René Domínguez, reflecting the diversity, inclusion and strength of the state in this discipline.
