Arsenal have won the first edition of the Women’s Champions Cup. In the final of the tournament between the continental champions, coach Renée Slegers’ Arsenal beat Brazil’s Corinthians 3-2.

With the victory, Arsenal earns around 2 million euros, the largest amount of prize money in women’s football ever. By comparison, Chelsea collected almost 100 million euros at the Men’s World Cup.

It was Olivia Smith who gave Arsenal an early lead from the rebound, but less than ten minutes later Gabi Zanotti signed for the 1-1.
