The DBB captain and his team have an impressive winning streak.
World and European champion Dennis Schröder remains on the road to success with the Cleveland Cavaliers even after the All-Star break. The captain of the German national team confidently won the home game against the Brooklyn Nets with the Cavs with 112:84, his team celebrating their sixth win in a row. Schröder came off the bench again and contributed twelve points, three rebounds and three assists in 20 minutes.
In total, the Cavs had seven players score in double figures, Donovan Mitchell was the best scorer with 17 points. Schröder only moved from the Sacramento Kings to Cleveland at the beginning of February and won five wins in his five appearances for the new club. Overall, the Cavaliers are fourth in the East this season with 35 wins and are fully on course for the playoffs.
The Orlando Magic can still hope for direct qualification for the play-offs as seventh in the Eastern Conference. In the absence of Franz Wagner, who again injured his ankle, the Florida franchise won 131:96 against the still struggling Kings. World champion Moritz Wagner scored eleven points, European champion Tristan da Silva contributed twelve points.
Meanwhile, German professional Ariel Hukporti was not used in the New York Knicks’ 111:126 win against the Detroit Pistons; the outstanding Cade Cunningham decided the game for the Pistons with 42 points.
