Santiago.- The president of the Dominican Basketball Federation (FEDOMBAL), Rafael Uribe highly positively valued the work carried out by the Santiago Basketball Association (ABASACA)highlighting the organization, the competitive level and the comprehensive vision that the Santiago Superior Tournamentconsidered one of the most solid and transcendent sporting events in the country.
These statements were offered during his visit to the city of Santiago last weekend, during the Sunday session of the Supreme Superior Basketball Tournament of Santiagowhere he had the opportunity to witness the high competitive level of the contest and the massive attendance of the public.
During his words, the head of FEDOMBAL stressed that Santiago basketball is going through its best moment, not only because of the quality of its players, but also because of the leadership capacityhigh-level refereeing and the modernization of its facilities, elements that place the tournament as a national benchmark.
Likewise, he highlighted the impact of the training categories promoted by ABASACA, pointing out as a significant achievement the participation of more than 700 young people in the recently inaugurated U19 youth tournament, an initiative that strengthens the base of Dominican basketball and guarantees the generational renewal of the sport.
“The success of the Santiago Superior Tournament is not a coincidence. It is the result of a well-organized structure that is committed to both high performance and training. Present and future are built here,” said Uribe.
Finally, he reaffirmed that this sports model not only raises the level of national basketball, but also positively impacts sports tourism and the local economy, consolidating Santiago as a key place for the comprehensive development of basketball in the Dominican Republic.
