RIYADH – Star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly on strike at the Al-Nassr club.

According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, the 40-year-old forward is unhappy with the club’s management by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. Ronaldo is said to miss today’s league match against Al-Riyadh.

Ronaldo is said to be angry that other PIF-owned clubs, rivals Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad, are being favored over his club Al-Nassr. The Portuguese star criticizes the team management for investing too little in the squad.

While Al-Nassr only brought in Iraqi Hajdir Abdulkarim in the winter transfer window, Al-Hilal have already invested €32m in reinforcements and are reportedly looking to sign former Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema from Al-Ittihad.

One of the best footballers in history has been playing for An-Nassr since January 2023 and last year extended his contract until 2027. He has scored 111 goals in 127 games so far.
