Roda JC vs ADO The Hague: Fireworks Incident Statement

At the start of the match between Roda JC – ADO Den Haag, a group of supporters set off fireworks, endangering the safety of fellow supporters.

General manager Jordens Peters about the incident at the start of the match: We deeply abhor the incident that has occurred. On this scale this is completely unacceptable for the club. A group of supporters have endangered the safety of our fellow supporters, players and employees through their behavior. We consider this a low point.

As a club, we are responsible for the safety of all our supporters and visitors. What happened here goes much further than an atmospheric campaign and in no way affects the purpose of support or club experience. Such behavior is at odds with what Roda JC wants to stand for.

This is especially painful at a time when we as a club are emphatically taking our responsibility for social problems in the region and want to make an impact, including through the campaign launched today.
