1B – INTERVIEWS – 1B A few hours before an important trip to Seraing, the RSCA Futures must deal with a remodeled squad. If Majeed Ashimeru left Neerpede to join La Louvière, Anderlecht can still count on two unexpected executives: Mats Rits and Thomas Foket. Having remained at Neerpede during the transfer window, the two experienced players now assume a particular role with Jelle Coen’s young group.
Since the arrival of U23 teams in the Challenger Pro League, they are authorized to field an outfield player over the age of 23, provided that this player has not played a single minute with the A team during the season.

The Futures coach insists: he will never sacrifice a young person’s playing time to make room for an experienced player. But he readily recognizes that Rits and Foket bring an extra dimension, both on the pitch and in training. Professionalism, high standards, leadership: their presence serves as a natural relay between the staff and the talents in training. Tactical discussions and exchanges of points of view, sometimes lively, enrich the group’s daily life.
The transfer window also saw two young people leave Sporting temporarily or permanently. Lilian Vergeylen has joined Knokke, where he hopes to find the playing time he lacked at Anderlecht. Jarne Flies, for his part, flew to Lecce, in Serie A, in order to gain experience in a more demanding and more adult environment.
On the infirmary side, Joshua Nga Kan will be absent for around a month due to a back problem, while Nunzio Engwanda is making his return after his injury contracted against Kortrijk.
