There is a sex scandal shaking Rangers: the club’s players reportedly used hotel rooms, reserved for physiotherapy sessions, to meet prostitutes, according to The Sun.
The controversy erupted when the wife of one of the footballers discovered her partner’s infidelity and contacted the club’s management to report the situation.
After an internal investigation, a member of the physiotherapists team was suspended, but it has not yet been determined how long this practice had been going on and how many members of the squad were involved — «a small number of players used hotel rooms in England, reserved for treatment sessions, to sleep with prostitutes» was the only information in this regard.
A club source told the tabloid that the scandal, which broke just before Christmas, had caused a huge storm at Ibrox. It appears that some rooms were reserved under the physiotherapy department, but evidently some players took advantage of this arrangement. At least one of the hotels used was in London.
Regarding the suspended employee, there is a feeling of “anger within the club” given that he is a long-serving member of staff who “is being punished for the actions of the players”: “He appears to be the villain, while the players avoided punishment.”
The consequences of the scandal “were a hot topic of conversation in the WhatsApp groups of players and staff. It is not known whether the footballers involved benefited from any physiotherapy during their trips to the hotels». Another source added: “This has been known for a few weeks. The players, wives and staff have been talking about it in separate groups
Rangers were confronted by the publication, but declined to comment further: “We are not going to comment on speculation. We can only confirm that there were no internal investigations at the club.”
