PSG Appeal: 3 Matches Lost Confirmed

The Parisiennes remain penalized in the ranking. The three defeats on the green carpet of the Paris Saint-Germain women’s team in the First League due to a licensing problem for its Canadian player Florianne Jourde were confirmed on appeal, we learned on Wednesday from a source close to the club.

PSG, which denounced at the time a “totally disproportionate” decision, will use all avenues of appeal, the National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) then the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), according to the same source.

The club was sanctioned by the French Football Federation (FFF) on December 22 after the complaint of Fleury, beaten during the 7th day (4-0), on November 8. The French vice-champions had suffered a defeat on the green carpet for this meeting, and the measure had been extended to two previous matches – beyond that there is a statute of limitations – also won against Le Havre (2-0, 6th day) and Strasbourg (1-0, 5th day).

Licensing issue

This penalty pushed PSG back in the First League standings, where it is currently 5th after a defeat against leader Lyon (1-0) and before the derby at PFC (2nd) on Saturday (9:05 p.m.).

The club was sanctioned because Jourde did not have an international transfer certificate (CIT) issued by the International Federation (Fifa), which is required to obtain a license when professional players change clubs. PSG claimed to have acted “in complete good faith and transparency, on the basis of the information available to it”, and recalled that the FFF “had nevertheless itself validated” the transfer “by issuing Florianne Jourde a license”.
