Palmeiras & Danilo: Botafogo Clash Anticipated

O Palm trees want to hire Danilodo Botafogoand placed him as the main target for the midfield sector at the beginning of 2026, reports “GE” this Wednesday (4/2). The black and white board, however, promises to play hard.

According to the report, there has been no proposal so far and Palmeiras is evaluating what is the best option to offer. The midfielder was chosen as the best player in the 1st round of the Brasileirão and is seen as a key player by Botafogo.

Danilo arrived at Botafogo in July last year for €22 million (R$142 million at the time) and has a contract until 2029. The club still owes Nottingham Forest €20 million for signing the player, according to the portal.

In January, Danilo was close to leaving Botafogo through legal means due to delays in image rights and FGTS, which had already been paid. The midfielder was also involved in a possible sale by John Textor to Forest last week, along with Álvaro Montoro.

According to “GE”, Palmeiras himself, Zenit and a Turkish club investigated Danilo’s situation at the beginning of 2026. The window for Europe’s main leagues closed last Monday (2/2), but Turkish clubs (up to 6/2) and Russian (up to 19/2) can still sign.
