After the more than 40 million euros that Flamengo paid for Lucas Paquetá, there is another Brazilian team that will try to close another million-dollar signing from English football. This is Palmeiras, a club that insists on Jhon Ariascurrently at Wolverhampton.
According to Globo Esporte de Brasil, Palmeiras has already sent a formal offer of 25 million euros by Arias. The English are willing to let him go, it is a good deal for them since they bought him for 20 million in July of last year.
“The European club has shown its willingness to close an agreement and Palmeiras awaits the player’s response. The conversations have intensified in recent days, both with Wolverhampton and with the Colombian’s entourage,” reports the Brazilian media.
Wolverhampton, condemned to relegation
One of Wolverhampton’s reasons for selling Arias is the team’s poor campaign this season. Their relegation to the second division is practically a fact. They are last in the Premier League with 8 points and just one game won out of the 24 played.
“Palmeiras’ idea is to incorporate high-profile players into the squad, which has seen the departures of Weverton, Micael, Aníbal Moreno, Facundo Torres and Raphael Veiga, and so far only the arrival of Marlon Freitas. The club has until March 3 to register new players“Globo Esporte added in its information.
