Olympic Flame: Cantù & Cernobbio Celebrate | EspansioneTv

Five-circle emotion from Cantù to Cernobbio. Hundreds of people welcomed and accompanied the Olympic flame along its journey through the Como area. A second day of celebration and sport after Sunday in Bellagio and Menaggio.
The crowds for the Olympic flame began in via Milano in Cantù, a few moments after 5.30pm. Ritual photos and selfies with the first torchbearer, surrounded by dozens of people who greeted the start of the torch journey. The torch then continued its journey, passing along the entire route between two rows of people crowded on the road. The highlight was the arrival in Piazza Garibaldi, where there were hundreds of people applauding the torch. Among the torchbearers are the basketball players of yesterday and today, Pier Luigi Marzorati and Riccardo Moraschini and the ice skater Veronica Testoni.
From Cantù, the torch then moved to Cernobbio, for a second crowd. Among those present were the athletes of the Canottieri Cernobbio and Moltrasio, who held the oars symbol of one of the most loved and practiced sports on the lake. Emotion and applause for the torch symbol of the Olympic Games.
From Cernobbio, on board the historic steamship Concordia, the Olympic flame finally set sail for Como, the last stop of today’s journey.
