ÖFB Quartet: Former Liefering Coach Takes Charge

After the dismissal of Horst Steffen, SV Werder Bremen is looking for a coach.

As the “DeichStube” reports, the search for a new trainer could come to a quick end. They are said to be in advanced discussions with the preferred candidate, Bo Svensson.

The former Liefering coach has been without a club since leaving Union Berlin in December 2024, so a transfer fee would not be due. But the 46-year-old Dane is said to have other offers, which is why he is currently hesitant. A decision is expected in the next few days.

Former Mainz coach Bo Henriksen was also linked to the coaching job at SV Werder Bremen, but according to “Bild” he is no longer one of the candidates.

SV Werder Bremen has four ÖFB legionnaires under contract: Marco Friedl, Maximilian Wöber, Romano Schmid and Marco Grüll.
