Born in Nuoro, known as Faragone, after graduating as a technical teacher from the Italian National Judo Academy in 1979, master Pietro Manca, 8th Dan Black Belt in Judo and Gold Star for Sporting Merit, founded the Osaka Judo school in Nuoro in March 1980. Judo instructor since 1979 and Kendo instructor since 1978, Judo master since 1990, federal Kata teacher, teacher of the Global Method of self-defense, member of the National Commission of Examiners for the 4th Dan of Judo. Pietro Manca was awarded the Coni Gold Star for Sporting Merit in 2020 (see photo) for having worn the blue shirt for a long time in Italy and abroad, in 1979 Fijlkam awarded him the title of Azzurro Athlete. In 2017 the IJF (International Judo Federation) awarded him the Gold Medal for his competitive career for his numerous results on the world stage as an Azzurri athlete of the Italian Veteran Judo National Team. Last year the federal president of Fijlkam Giovanni Morsiani “motu proprio” awarded him the high degree of 8th Dan in Judo.

Under the guidance of Maestro Manca, the athletes have won many gold, silver and bronze medals in the various categories of the Italian championships, the Euro Championships and the Veteran World Championships. and there are countless promotions to black belt, at both competitive and non-competitive levels. In his free time Piero Manca dedicated himself to some of his favorite hobbies such as riding his Vespa, composing manuscripts, travelling, windsurfing and kayaking.
