The debut of Bad Bunny on the stage of Super Bowl 2026 (live on Italia 1 on the night between Sunday 8 and Monday 9 February) is sparking an unprecedented debate within the NFL. For the first time in history, the halftime show will be entrusted to an artist who sings mainly in Spanish, a choice that has deeply divided the protagonists of the camp themselves. According to a survey conducted by the New York Times, 58.6% of players welcomed the arrival of the award-winning Puerto Rican rapper, while a a significant minority of 41.4% declared themselves against it. Although much of the dissent is linked to a lack of familiarity with the Latin trap genre, the League’s choice quickly took on a strong political connotation.
