POOR – The Top Sports Center in Almere Poort was the battleground for the Dutch badminton championship last weekend. The audience enjoyed many exciting matches.

In the last final of the tournament, the occasional duo Noah Haase/Ties van der Lecq (Almere/Duinwijck) took the title in the men’s doubles. They won 17-21, 21-19 and 21-15 against the pair Andy Buijk/Brian Wassink (BCH/Duinwijck).

In the women’s doubles final, Cheryl Seinen and Iris van Leijsen (BC Drop Shot) defeated the first seeded couple Meerte Loos and Kirsten de Wit (Duinwijck/Almere) 21-17 and 22-20.

The mixed doubles title went to Brian Wassink/Debora Jille of BC Duinwijck. They won 21-10, 17-21 and 22-20 against the Almere duo Dyon van Wijlick/Kirsten de Wit.

Adith Karthikeyan Priya became Dutch champion in the men’s singles. The 19-year-old player from BC Duinwijck won the final 21-17 and 21-12 against the first seeded 20-year-old Noah Haase (BV Almere).

Flora Wang (DKC) became Dutch champion in the women’s singles. In the final she defeated her clubmate Jaymie Laurens 21-9 and 21-16.
