Nardoni Joins Grêmio: Official Welcome & Details

After several rounds of negotiations, the future of Juan Nardoni has finally been decided. Racing has reached an agreement with Gremio, and the midfielder born in Nelson, Santa Fe, will continue his career in Brazilian football. The Porto Alegre club has already welcomed him, and the player will travel in the coming days to join his new team.

After some differences that arose in recent hours, the negotiations reached a successful conclusion, and the midfielder will play for the Brazilian side in 2026, thus closing an important chapter at La Academia.

In 2023, Racing had acquired 70% of Nardoni’s transfer rights for an amount close to 3.2 million dollars, based on the official exchange rate at that time. In this deal with Gremio, 80% of his rights are being transferred for USD 8 million. Taxes will be deducted from that amount first, and from the net sum, the Avellaneda club will have to pay Unión 30%. Additionally, of the 20% of the rights not included in the sale, Racing will retain 14% and Unión 6%. A key detail is that the extra USD 2 million for sporting objectives will go entirely to La Academia.

In the immediate future, the 23-year-old midfielder, who did not play against Tigre, trained normally during the week. However, all indications are that he will not be available to Gustavo Costas for Saturday’s match against Argentinos Juniors, as he is expected to travel to Brazil on Monday to complete his move.

In this way, Nardoni closes a significant chapter at Racing. He played 126 official matches, scored 5 goals, provided 7 assists, and was part of a successful period, winning the 2023 International Supercup, the 2024 Copa Sudamericana, and the 2025 Recopa Sudamericana. Now, La Academia hopes to capitalize on his sale, although the final amount that will enter the club’s coffers will be less than the gross value of the transfer.
