Matt Nagy new offensive coordinator for the Giants
John Harbaugh and the Giants have their new offensive coordinator. This is Matt Nagy ! He was the Chiefs’ offensive coordinator for the past three seasons.
If Todd Monken was long expected to be number 1, before taking the position of head coach of the Browns, the name of Matt Nagy was late associated with the Giants. It must be said that the coach had undergone several interviews for a head coach position and was even a “finalist” for the Titans.
John Harbaugh is still taking a small risk because the attacks led by Matt Nagy have never finished in the Top 10 in points scored over the last three years. Matt Nagy will take over the calling of games in New York, something he did not do in Kansas City.
Pro Bowl : the NFC bat l’AFC
The Flag game which now serves as the Pro Bowl took place on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. The NFC won 66 to 52.
The NFL does not allow you to integrate its You Tube or X player. So good for the images. Finally Jalen Hurts was in sweatpants. Do you understand the intensity?
Browns: Todd Monken will wait before confirming his starting quarterback
Todd Monken had his introductory press conference for the Browns this Tuesday. The coach notably returned to 2 major subjects for the franchise: the quarterback position and the future of the defense.
Concerning the quarterback position, Monken would not confirm who his starting quarterback will be in 2026.
“As with all positions within the team, this remains to be determined. Am I excited to see Shedeur? Am I excited to see all the available quarterbacks? Am I excited to coach this team? Absolutely. I can’t wait for them to come back and for us to start the season. »
Monken instead talked about what he values in a quarterback, with particular emphasis on intangible qualities.
“I’ll start with personality traits. When we talk about the one who is going to lead this team, the one who has that little something extra, the one who has these characteristics which inspire confidence and that the team wants to follow because he has the ball in his hand in every action, this match will be played in the last minutes, in the last minutes. You have to be able to execute actions at a high level. And we are only talking here about the desired qualities, without even talking about the physical qualities which we will talk about later. »
The new head coach then addressed the question of defense. The Browns still do not know if Jim Schwartz will continue to be the defensive coordinator in 2026. The coach is said to be upset at not having been given the head coach position. In the meantime, Todd Monken says that if necessary, he will do without Schwartz.
“First of all, I think Jim is an outstanding defensive coordinator; I think we all agree on that. But I think it’s a bit inappropriate for me to comment on this at this time. I think we are not going to change the system. I have no intention of changing the system. I am not going to address the question of staffing, because now is not the time. But they can be assured that we will keep the same system. It was the defensive players who largely motivated me to accept this position. I didn’t take this job because of Jim Schwartz. I have a lot of respect for Jim Schwartz, and I hope that’s reciprocated. But I accepted it for the players already present, the management, Andrew Berry, and the possibility of building this offensive team from A to Z.
Scott Tolzien told the Steelers
Announced as the Steelers’ new offensive coordinator earlier this week, Scott Tolzien seems to have changed his mind. According to CBS Sports, Tolzien will not go to the Steelers and will keep his position as quarterbacks coach in 2026. Good news for the Saints and 2nd year quarterback Tyler Shough who showed signs of progress during his rookie season.
Note that according to Mark Kaboly, an insider close to the Steelers, the franchise would go towards Brian Angelichiocurrent passing game coordinator and tight ends coach for the Vikings.
The Jets in the home stretch
The Jets appear to be close to finding their new offensive coordinator. This Tuesday, they conducted a second in-person interview with France. The latter is the 3rd candidate to have a 2nd interview this week after Greg Roman et Darrell Bevell.
The Bears are looking for their new offensive coordinator
With the departure of Declan Doyle for Baltimore, the Bears are looking for their new offensive coordinator. We now know the first tracks from Chicago. According to NFL.com, the Bears want to meet Connor SengerCardinals passing game coordinator in 2025.
Chicago also offered an interview to Troy Walters (WR coach, Bengals) but he refused according to CBS Sports.
Robert Kraft also failed from the Hall of Fame
There will be no jealousy between Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft. According to ESPN, Patriots owner won’t be elected to Hall of Fame either at its first opportunity.
Kraft and Belichick were competing in a 5-person roster that included Ken Anderson (ex-Bengals QB), Roger Craig (ex-RB, 49ers) and LC Greenwood (ex-DE, Steelers). Voters could only vote for 3 of these 5 personalities. The absence of Kraft and Belichick therefore suggests that one of its 3 former players (or even more) will go to the Hall of Fame this year.
NFLPA does not support 18-game season
Super Bowl week, the NFLPA (players’ union) held a conference this Tuesday. The most important topic of the conference was, unsurprisingly, the potential expansion of the regular season to 18 games. And the NFLPA is really not in favor of that, as David White, the union’s interim executive director, explains.
“This 18th match is far from trivial for us. This is a very serious question. It must be negotiated and nothing can move forward until the players have had the opportunity to take into account all the factors and, subsequently, decide, after negotiations, whether or not to accept this 18th match. But for now, the players have been very clear: they are not in favor of it. »
Until when and for how many dollars will players change their minds?
