Munich Snowstorm: Bayern Match Postponed

Winter has Munich firmly under control. Due to massive snowfall, FC Bayern’s next competitive game will be postponed at short notice.

The FC Bayern Amateurs’ competitive opener in 2026 against SpVgg Unterhaching cannot take place as planned. As the club officially announcedthe home game scheduled for Friday evening in the Grünwalder Stadium has been postponed since Thursday afternoon due to the weather conditions and heavy snowfall.

The encounter will now be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 24th at 7 p.m. Tickets that have already been purchased remain valid. The game will also be broadcast live and free of charge on FC Bayern TV PLUS.

The FC Bayern professionals will meet Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday (kick-off: 3:30 p.m.). However, the staging of the Bundesliga game in the Allianz Arena is currently not in jeopardy.

Bayern women are also affected

There had already been a cancellation of a game involving FCB due to weather. The FC Bayern Women’s away game at Werder Bremen had to be canceled because the pitch in the Weserstadion’s 11th place was classified as unplayable after an assessment by the responsible committees.

A new date for the game in Bremen has not yet been set and will be announced soon in coordination with both clubs and the association. For the Munich team, the cancellation means an unplanned interruption in the rhythm of the game – especially in a phase in which important points are at stake in the championship race.

The Bayern women are currently leading the table with 49 points from 17 games. VfL Wolfsburg follows eleven points behind, although with one game less. Werder Bremen is in sixth place with 28 points.

Next up for Munich is the top game against Wolfsburg on Sunday, February 22nd. Then we go to Hamburg on March 11th, before 1. FC Cologne visits four days later.
